March 5-12, 2013

This week started off to a great start, I was invited to Go to Homer and help Alaska Department Of Fish and Game with their SeaDuck surveys in Kachemak Bay; I was helping out for 4 days.
This is were we were based out of for our surveys.
Counting birds in Neptune Bay, lucked out with one bluebird day.
Black Scoters flying in front of Grenwick Glacier
Data Sheets drying out from a cold, wet soggy day
Longtail ducks flying all around the boat, pretty great day!
Upon my return to work there was a little Common Redpoll in Rehab, it was ready for release, so we took him home and released him near my feeders in my yard. He Mixed right in with the other 50 or so birds, that have been draining my feeders each day.
10 inches of snow fell while we were out work. Charlie called in a "sick ski day".
Went for a beach walk and found this frozen Jellyfish on the beach. Kinda looks like an eye?
An Eider feather floats in the icy pool as fresh snow falls.
